Tap Sounds — Privacy Policy

This policy was written from a direct, code-level review of what the app and its backend actually do — not from assumptions about what a typical app’s policy says.

Effective date: August 9, 2026 Contact: vyronlabs.co@gmail.com

Overview

Tap Sounds (“the app”) is a soundboard app. This policy explains what data the app and its backend handle, and why.

The app does not require an account, does not ask for your name, email, or any personal profile, and does not include any analytics or crash-reporting SDK.

Data the app collects and where it goes

1. Search queries

When you use the in-app search, the text you type is sent to our search backend (a Cloudflare Worker we operate) to return matching sounds. No account identifier, device identifier, or session identifier is attached to this request — the app does not generate or send one.

On the backend:

2. Sound catalog and downloads

The list of available sounds and the sound files themselves are fetched from our public, read-only content delivery infrastructure (Cloudflare Workers and Cloudflare R2 storage) over HTTPS. These are anonymous content requests; Cloudflare acts solely as our infrastructure/hosting provider for this purpose (see “Third-party service providers” below).

3. Rewarded ads (Google AdMob)

Some downloads are unlocked by watching a short rewarded video ad, served by Google AdMob. When an ad is requested and shown, Google’s AdMob SDK collects and processes standard advertising data on its own behalf, which may include an advertising identifier, device information, and ad interaction/performance data, per Google’s own privacy practices. We do not receive or store this data ourselves beyond knowing that a reward was granted for a specific sound, recorded locally on your device (see below).

Where required by applicable law (for example, in the European Economic Area and the UK), the app asks for your consent before requesting personalized ads, using Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent flow. If you decline or restrict consent, ads are still shown where permitted, but without personalization based on the data covered by that consent. You can review or change your choice at any time from Settings → Privacy options (shown only where a choice applies to you).

4. Voice search (microphone)

The Search screen has an optional microphone button for voice search. Tapping it is the only time the app requests microphone access — never automatically when the app opens, and never for any other feature.

When you use it, your speech is processed by your device’s own operating-system speech-recognition service (for example, Google’s, on Android) to convert it into text, which is then searched the same way a typed query would be. The app itself makes no network request containing your voice or an audio recording, and does not store any recording on our own servers.

Voice search is entirely optional — you can always type your search instead, and every other part of the app works normally without ever granting microphone access. If you deny the permission, or deny it permanently, voice search is simply unavailable; nothing else is affected.

5. Data that stays only on your device

The following is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party:

Uninstalling the app removes all of this local data. Because none of it is sent to us, we have no server-side copy to delete on your behalf.

Third-party service providers

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for purposes other than those described here.

Children’s privacy

Tap Sounds is intended for users aged 18 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe that a child has provided personal data through the application, contact us at vyronlabs.co@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
